The Human Brain

So I saw this episode of some show where they were talking about 7 wonders of the human world. One of them was a guy who could memorize thousands of numbers and repeat them flawlessly, and do math problems faster than a calculator. He was autistic, but one of the smartest people in the world. The scientific reason for this was that the different parts of his brain communicated everything with each other. So memories could be smells, numbers mental shapes, and etc. It seems to me that the human brain should always be that way. He used much more of his brain than the 10% most people are capable of using. One thing that he mentioned was that is was difficult the focus in cities due to the overload of detail that only his brain could pick up from the colors, movement, signs, and other things that modern humanity needs. I think that if thats the way our brains should work, then it would be better to simplify to a system without so much overload.

The Fair '10

These past 10 days, I have been employed by the Clark County Fair. Making minimum wage, I worked 8 hours a day, plus a 1 hour unpaid lunch. My job was as a worker in the General Worker Pool, or as a GWP. This required sitting endlessly at a picnic table waiting for jobs, doing paper pickups, cleaning the grandstands, sweeping, and doing ice delivery.
I befriended Corban, the Ice guy who actually graduated from my school. He's awesome. I made some friends, David, Dennis, and Bryce. I will never see them again, but it was nice to get to know them.

Doing grandstand cleaning was the job everybody feared. At around 8:30 every morning, all the GWP's without excuses went to clean it. We would spray the whole thing down with a fire hose, and the scrub it with sponge mops, and the rinse it again. The process takes between 1-3 hours, depending.
It was very hot this week, so the two preferred jobs were ice, and the Walk on Water shift. Walk on Water was an area in the Exhibition Hall were you could get in a giant hamster ball, play dry in the water, and splash. We, then pick up slashed water with a Zamboni. The main benefit, is being in the air conditioning.
After I got off work at 5, I was in the fair for free. I watched Tucker do 4H with Emma, were he won a major award in Showmanship, rode some rides, Got an amazing 1/2 price deal on great jerky (The Jerky Hut) and watched shows.
The Monster trucks and destruction derby (especially the truck round) were cool. When Californian Kid, a monster truck, tipped in freestyle, Rockstar then proceeded to drive up the flipped truck, and the two of them fit perfectly. I the Derby Truck Round, this old Ford destroyed the competition, and the truck was hardly damaged. It was definately built Ford Tough.

I also saw some interesting things. I saw a really small horse, a rip off, a giant pig, really cool, some good artwork, and crazy etch-a-sketches.

The fair was tiring and hot, but also really fun.
